Whether you're here for a casual meal or celebrating a special occasion, Carasau promises an experience that's as memorable as it is flavorful.

One of the first things you'll notice when stepping into Carasau Ristorante is its cozy yet modern vibe. The interior is tastefully decorated with a mix of rustic and contemporary elements, offering a comfortable dining environment that feels both upscale and relaxed. Whether you're sitting by the windows, enjoying the view of the city streets, or in a more intimate corner of the restaurant, Carasau makes sure that every guest feels right at home.

The menu at Carasau is a delightful exploration of Italian cuisine with a particular focus on Sardinian influences. The restaurant takes pride in its use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients that enhance the authentic flavors. You’ll find classic pasta dishes such as rich, creamy fettuccine and rustic lasagna, each bursting with flavor and made to perfection. But what really sets Carasau apart is its specialty-bread made from carasau, a traditional Sardinian flatbread known for its delicate, crispy texture. This unique touch adds a memorable flavor profile to many of the dishes, from savory appetizers to hearty main courses.

A standout dish at Carasau is their signature Sardinian carasau flatbread pizza. It’s an exciting take on a beloved Italian classic, with a crunchy yet airy texture that perfectly complements the savory toppings. For those who prefer something a little heartier, the porchetta-slow-roasted pork with fragrant herbs-is a crowd favorite. Each bite offers a savory depth that blends beautifully with the accompanying vegetables and sauces. If you're in the mood for seafood, the restaurant's spaghetti alle vongole-a pasta dish made with fresh clams-doesn't disappoint, with a light, garlic-infused sauce that elevates the natural sweetness of the seafood.

Carasau's drinks menu is just as thoughtfully curated as its food. The wine list features a great selection of Italian wines, including options from Sardinia, making it a perfect pairing for the regional dishes. The staff are knowledgeable about the wines and happy to offer recommendations based on your meal, ensuring that every sip complements the dish in front of you.

In terms of customer service, Carasau excels at making diners feel like part of the family. The staff is friendly, attentive, and quick to offer suggestions when you're not sure what to order. They go the extra mile to accommodate dietary restrictions, ensuring that everyone can enjoy their meal without compromise. Whether you're a regular or it's your first visit, you’re always greeted with a smile and treated like an important guest.

While many visitors rave about the exceptional food and welcoming atmosphere, it's clear that Carasau has earned its reputation not just for the quality of its dishes, but also for the overall dining experience. The thoughtful details, from the impeccable service to the atmosphere that invites guests to linger, make this restaurant a standout in the area.

For dessert, don't skip the tiramisu, which is a perfect balance of creamy and coffee-flavored sweetness, rounding off the meal with just the right amount of indulgence. If you're not in the mood for something sweet, try a rich espresso, the perfect way to finish your meal after a hearty Italian feast.

Carasau Ristorante is not just about food; it's about bringing a taste of Sardinia to California, offering a unique dining experience that feels both homey and refined. • it should go without saying that Italian cuisine is not monolithic. Not all pasta are the same and certainly the food will vary from region to region. Carasau is not just an Italian restaurant. It is a Sardinian restaurant. I have been here a couple of times, mostly for their delicious gelato, but they also offer delicious and unique pasta. The malloredus is quite good. Doesn't feel heavy for a pasta and yet filling. The flavor is good, although just a tad too salty. Could be the cheese but it does overpower any other flavor in the dish. Good thing it is still a tasty pasta dish. Now, the seadas is quite different. I don't think I've seen this at any other Italian restaurants before. Seadas is a Sardinian specialty, a crispy, deep fried pastry stuffed with Pecorino cheese (love this cheese!) and drizzled with warm honey. It is very delectable and has a beautiful balance of that salty cheesiness and sweet, delicious honey. It's practically a must-have at Carasau if you've never had Sardinian cuisine before. Of course, you also can't go wrong with their gelato, which is light, airy, and oh-so-sweet. My favorites are the pistachio, lemon, and strawberries. Lastly, the restaurant itself is charming. It is a great place for a relaxing lunch or dinner

  • Want to feel like you’re part of the ‘family’ in a mob movie while dining in a chic Italian restaurant with impeccable and attentive service? News worthy al dente pasta, with absolute creamy burrata, juicy bruschetta, succulent steak, and perfect shrimp? Look no further. Stumbled on this gem with my family while visiting LA after the Palisaded fires and found it to be an absolute treasure. Had the pleasure to meet Vincenzo - the daring proprietor and immediately felt at home. Truly special place with amazing food and atmosphere, on a date or an evening out with friends - you’ll appreciate your experience here. If not, it’s on me. I rarely write reviews but the attention and caring to craft made it a memorable experience, albeit entirely by accident. Will be back! Food, service, class, and ambience A++ from a discerning, bougie restaurant connoisseur.

  • This restaurant is a true hidden gem in Culver City. It offers an authentic Italian-Sardinian dining experience with a wide variety of dishes, from fresh pasta and seafood to traditional Sardinian ravioli and other specialties. Everything tastes homemade and carefully prepared.. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and very peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a great meal. The staff are attentive and kind, and the service is excellent. A special mention goes to the owner, Vincenzo who is incredibly friendly and works in the restaurant with true passion. He makes you feel like part of the family, and dining here feels just like being at home. If you are in Culver City and looking for authentic Italian-Sardinian food in a quiet neighborhood with a genuine family feel, this place is an absolute must... In one of the pictures is the "Seadas", a typical dessert dish like a Raviolo filled with cheese similar to mozzarella and drizzled with honey. Being myself from Sardinia, this is one of my favorite desserts Sabrina

  • I've over looked this restaurant for YEARS, but we finally decided to stop by for the lunch Dine LA special. The special consisted of three courses, a starter, an entree, and a dessert with and additional bread basket. I'd say for $35, we definitely got our money's worth. Each course was phenomneal with every dish having a very rich flavor. I was left wanting more by the end of the meal. We'll definitely be back again to try out more of their menu!

  • Beautiful Sardinian, Italian restaurant. The Calamari and Beef Carpaccio made for great appetizers. Definitely worth trying the Montanara pizza. The crust was amazing came out hot and taste like freshly made pizza. I am not disappointed. Look forward to coming back and trying other dishes on the menu.

  • A delicious surprise across the street! I’m staying at a hotel just across from Carasau and was immediately intrigued by the name—I honestly thought it was a Brazilian place! But I walked in and realized it’s actually a cozy Italian gem, and what a discovery it was. I ordered a traditional Sardinian dish (I think it’s called fregola?), little toasted pasta pearls served with Italian sausage, gorgonzola, and plenty of Parmigiano. Pure comfort food. Creamy, rich, full of flavor—it felt like a warm hug from home, the kind of dish that makes you forget you’re thousands of miles away. The vibe is welcoming, the staff super kind, and the food? 100% Italian soul. If you’re in the area and craving something real, go. You’ll thank yourself later.
